Calcium Chloride 94-97% – Mini Prills

An anhydrous pellet form of calcium chloride (CaCl2). It is the most widely used and most effective cement accelerator in drilling fluid additives. Typically, 1% to 3% calcium chloride, based on the cement used. Calcium chloride is added to drilling fluids to shorten the setting time and/or accelerate the hardening process. It can also limit corrosion and improve the performance of mud systems.

    Calcium Nitrate

Calcium nitrate serves as a prime calcium source for clear-water drilling. It is widely used in drilling fluids as a fluid loss additive due to its effectiveness in controlling fluid loss. When applied in modest amounts, calcium nitrate is a valuable plant nutrient that supports revegetation efforts on well sites and promotes the health of the surrounding formation environments.

    Chem Clean Green

Earth Pro Chem Clean Green is the preferred cleaner for oilfield drilling operations, including upgrading/refining pipeline and facilities operations. This concentrated rig wash is a powerful degreaser that starts deodorizing and emulsifying on contact. Its grease-fighting solvents and emulsifiers are ideal for heavy-duty cleaning, helping keep drilling equipment free of buildup and contributing to better overall hole-cleaning performance. For lighter cleaning tasks, it can be diluted for efficient, economical use.

    Citric Acid

Citric acid is frequently used in drilling chemicals and acid systems, where it helps prevent the precipitation of gelatinous ferric hydroxide as the acid spends, an important factor in corrosion control for drilling fluid systems. Acting as a sequestering agent, citric acid can keep as much as 3000 mg/L of ferric iron in spent acid solutions for over 4 hours at temperatures above 80°C.

    pH Down Citric

Earth Pro pH Down Citric is commonly used in acid formulations to manage drilling fluids. Its function is to prevent the precipitation of gelatinous ferric hydroxide as the acid spends, which helps limit corrosion and maintain fluid stability. Citric acid is a sequestering agent and can retain up to 3000 mg/L of ferric iron in spent acid solutions for more than 4 hours at temperatures above 80°C.

    pH Up Soda Ash

Commonly known as Soda Ash, sodium carbonate anhydrous, is widely used in the drilling industry as a water-based mud conditioner and contaminant treatment additive. Earth Pro pH Up Soda Ash is added to make-up water to precipitate calcium, softening the water and raising its pH level before drilling mud is mixed.

    Soda Ash for Non-Oilfield

Commonly known as Soda Ash, sodium carbonate anhydrous, is widely used in the drilling industry as a water-based mud conditioner and contaminant treatment additive. It’s an essential component in drilling fluid preparation, helping to reduce fluid loss and improve the overall effectiveness of water-based muds.

    Sodium Bicarbonate

Sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO₃), also known as Bi-Carb, baking soda, or bicarbonate of soda, is used in drilling fluids to address cement contamination. It works by precipitating calcium as calcium carbonate and lowering the pH. Because it provides an available H⁺ ion, it can reduce the pH of any drilling fluid with a pH above 8.5. When used as a pre-treatment, sodium bicarbonate helps control cement contamination and supports the overall drilling fluid stability.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do fluid loss additives work?

Fluid loss additives work by forming a thin, low-permeability filter cake on the wellbore walls. This filter cake reduces the amount of filtrate (the liquid portion of drilling fluid) that can seep into the surrounding formation. By limiting filtrate invasion, these additives help maintain wellbore stability, protect the formation, and preserve the properties and volume of the drilling fluid.

How do I choose a suitable additive for my drilling operation?

Choosing the right additive depends on factors such as formation characteristics, drilling fluid type, temperature, and pressure conditions, as well as any challenges you’re experiencing in the wellbore. Our technical team can evaluate your drilling environment and recommend the additive that will deliver the best performance for your specific conditions.

Can Di-Corp customize drilling fluid additives to meet specific needs?

Yes, Di-Corp provides custom blending services to create drilling fluid additives tailored to your project’s specific requirements, helping you achieve optimal performance in your operating conditions.
